My Studio Space
Unfortunately, after lockdown started, I have been unable to access my studio space back in Aberystwyth. This term, I was working a lot between my assigned space in the old college and also my bedroom at home. I'm a bit of a night owl and often get bursts of energy at 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning. All my best ideas happen in bed so working between the two spaces is convenient. Also, I often find that it's nice to be able to walk away from what I'm working on, which is where the uni studios come in handy.
Now that I'm back in Derby, I'm set up in my parent's basement. I'm very grateful for this space - I wouldn't be able to cope with working in my bedroom! I have made a bit of a mess of it, but it does the trick. I've also found myself working outside, in the garden. The weathers been horrendously nice recently so I have been spending a lot of time outside. It's actually quite amazing how many different pieces I can do from one space. I think that by having restrictions on the places I can see, I've found myself looking closer to home for inspiration. I've noticed that I've been looking for compositions in the world around me, however small that is.
